World Village Gospel Choir presents “Higher Love”, a concert of uplifting and powerful choral music Sat. April 27th at 2 pm in Historic Knox United Church, 400 Edmonton St.
The choir will be backed up by a stellar band: wunderkind pianist Evan Miles and the father-and-son team of Dan Koulack (banjo, bass) and George Bajer-Koulack (percussion).
Repertoire includes The Gift, from West Coast composer Russell Wallace of the Lilloet First Nation; Shosholoza, a work song with roots in Zimbabwe that’s been called South Africa’s second national anthem; and Higher Love, an 80s pop hit from British artist Steve Winwood, plus other memorable songs.
